The House Honors High School Basketball Champs

Santa Fe, NM-  Today, the House recognized the Volcano Vista High School Girls and Boys Basketball teams who recently won the State NMAA 5A Basketball Championship. Both teams completed perfect seasons with final games at the Pit.  

Representative Joy Garratt (D-Albuquerque, pictured speaking) said, “I could not be more proud of the hard work and talent of these young athletes from Albuquerque’s Westside. I always love the opportunity to recognize the achievements of young people and introduce them to the legislature.”  

Representative Antonio “Moe” Maestas (D-Albuquerque, pictured standing, second from right) said, “It really is a historic achievement for a school to have undefeated state champs in both girls’ and boys’ basketball and we were honored to host these young leaders in the Roundhouse today.”
