“As Members of the New Mexico House, we wanted to take a moment to share the hard work and accomplishments of the past week. Time and time again, our constituents have shared their difficulties with access to broadband, clean and safe water, food, affordable housing and healthcare.  We heard your calls, and House Democrats voted unanimously to deliver $149 million for broadband infrastructure, $25 million for housing assistance, $65 million to increase healthcare access and address our nursing shortage, $5 million for food banks, and $162 million to invest in infrastructure to create and support good-paying, family-supporting jobs.

We also quickly passed legislation to ensure that rural health clinics can keep their doors open.  We cannot keep our families and communities waiting for these results. We must get this critical legislation to the Governor for her signature so we can go back to our constituents and let them know that their New Mexico state government has got their back.

As we look forward to holiday celebrations and yearly reflections, we are also reminded that too many hardworking New Mexican families are forced to go without food on the table, gifts under the tree, or the ability to connect with loved ones. As we've done all year long, your New Mexico House Democrats have worked closely with communities across our state to identify and address our most critical needs in this special legislative session.”
