House Democrats Mourn the Passing of Senator Bill O’Neill

Santa Fe, NM - Following the news that former New Mexico Senator Bill O’Neill  (D-Albuquerque) has passed away, House Democrats issued the following statement:

“Senator Bill O’Neill was a dedicated servant leader, a talented writer, a generous friend, and a fierce champion for justice.

Throughout his tenure in the Roundhouse, which included four years in the House and 12 years in the Senate, Senator O’Neill could be counted on to look out for the underdog and keep a cool head, no matter how heated conversations became. New Mexico is a better place because of his service and the legislation he carried.

Our hearts go out to all who knew and loved Bill. His legacy will live on in all who seek to give voice to the voiceless.”
